From Beginning To End--To A New Beginning

I meant to post this blog a week ago but have been doing my other blogging stuff, that I am just now getting around to doing. (watch, I will be struggling this weekend to find a post to write.)


Anyway last week my husband decided to make a surprise for me. He went and bought the lumber and I kept guessing and guessing but he never would tell me. When we got home from his Lowes trip I had to lay down and take a nap because I was wiped out.

When I woke up this is what he had done. Well he had it a bit more put together. He asked me to help him put it up on some saw horses so he could work on it some more. I honestly can not remember what he said for me to pose this question but I said "Why, its just a bench?" His reply was.."Yeah and?" Ha Ha he told on himself! I knew what my surprise was. Well not so much of a surprise now.

 Then of course I had to help also. 

Here it is! My hand-built, custom made 8ft. bench. Trust me it has gotten great use just this one week of its new life. Its nice having a place to sit outside and watch my son play or watch the birds. I have been getting up in the mornings when my husband comes home from work and sitting, just me and him outside watching the birds and just chatting. This is the beginning of new memories for us. It is amazing how such a small thing can play such a role in our everyday life. Especially an 8ft. bench.

Fingernail Experiment Gone AWESOME

So recently I have started doing my nails. The best place to go to of course in pintrest for inspiring ideas! Oh yes I love love that website!!! So I decided to look on there for some nail designs when I came across this one.

Looks cool huh? But unfortunately I don't have those exact colors to use so I decided to use my own colors and make up my own design and here is what I came up with

Not to bad I don't think and I really like it. Now that the weather has warmed up it is also flip flop time so of course it's time to start painting toenails and I always try to match my toenails with my fingernails. But this time I decided I wanted to be different. I painted my big toenail the same as my fingernails then painted each individual toe with one of the colors I used to make up the colors on the big toe and fingers. Here is how it turned out.

I'm happy with the end result! This is a simple design but it does take some time. All you do is use a make-up sponge with the color you want and dab it on your nails. Do the same with each color you decide to use. Pretty neat! I cant wait to see what I can do next. 

Who Am I?

Who am I? This is a recent question I have asked myself. As I was laying in bed last night I realized I am not defined by one certain thing or characteristic. I even turned and asked my husband who he thought I was. How did he define me? To my surprise he was speechless and had no direct answer. I thought for sure if anyone knew me it would be him.  This man usually has an answer to everything whether he is right or wrong. His most brilliant answer to the question I posed was that I was a Chameleon and was adaptable to everything. 


I'm no so sure I like that answer or like that aspect about myself. I am a country girl but I can also be city like, I like to wear make-up, do my nails and hair but I like to wear my jeans and t-shirts. I love all kinds of music from Tool to Hank Williams Jr., I like big trucks and muddin' but I like the low riders and bikes. So I guess I should embrace who I am which seems to be a mixture of colors in a bucket. I'm not just the pink crayon in the box I am all the crayons. Gosh, I still don't know what to think about it. 

How many of you actually have asked yourself or someone else this same question? What kind of answers have you came up with? Are you with me and struggling to find your identity? I am 30 years old and will be 31 Tuesday, one would think I would "know who I am" by now. I think my biggest issue is who I want to be is not who I am. I need to do some soul searching.
