It' Okay That I will Not Be Returning to College

Its Okay......
That I found out that I can not do my bachelors degree. I had decided to go back to college and get my bachelors in Business Administration. Not something I particularly wanted to do but it's what is in demand in the job industry around here. You can go anywhere with a BS degree. Well I already have an associates, but that degree is no good for anything and I found out I wasted tons of money doing this. I was young so therefore I screwed around, failed classes, dropped out, went back so in my being dumb and making bad choices I ran up my student loan bill. I am at $55,000! Ouch! Scary number huh? I did not know that they put a cap on student loans until a few days ago. The cap is $57,000. So that left me with $2,000 plus what I can get from a pell grant which is about $4,000. Yeah right, this will not get me my bachelors at $414 a credit! So I un-enrolled. No more college for me. Its okay though, I did not want to really go for that. I will just be a stay at home mom for a long time and figure out how to pay those crappy loans that are worthless. 

Logan starts his new preschool tomorrow. I am excited about him going and its okay that I will miss him. He will be in good hands. Hopefully much better hands than his previous school. Check out this video that shows what a wonderful school/company this is.

It's Okay!

It's okay not to care about the same sex marriage fad that has taken over Arkansas and my facebook newsfeed! Really I have no opinion nor care about this subject.

It is okay to accept that my mother in law or not so much mother in law does not like me. Only reason I can come up with is that I am with her only child. Thank goodness she lives 2,000 miles away! Im not sure I could handle her being in the same state. I should mention, she has NEVER met me. 

Its okay that I have ate junk food all day long. Doughnuts and cookies!! Yum

It is okay to be terrified of my sons upcoming surgery on the 20th. It may be a simple procedure but it still scares the crap out of me and that is okay. 

Tuesday Things

So I unfortunately failed at the Sunday Scavenger Hunt and the Monday blog hops as well as Macro Monday. I have been pretty good at keeping up with these but the last couple of days I have been so tired. I have no idea why but I can barely keep my eyes open. I have been spending a lot of time resting. What I can with having an 18mth old that has been really really cranky. 

This Tuesday I decided to do Texture Tuesday, Barn Charm and Tones on Tuesday all one image. Here it is. 

I converted this image to black and white then adjusted the hue and saturation to come up with an antique look, after that I applied Kim Klassen's (way texture) used the overlay and left the opacity at 100% and took a soft airbrush over the barn image at 40%. I wanted the old timey feel to the image and I believe I captured that.

Texture Tuesday

I am starting to get addicted to adding textures to pictures thanks to Kim Klassen and her Texture Tuesday Photo Challenge. I will admit it is fun and sometimes frustrating but you can end up with some great pictures. This week we were to take it outdoors and use one of her textures. I used her sunkissed texture and I did add a little quote.

Kim Klassen over at Kim Klassen Cafe hosts a blog thing every Tuesday called Texture Tuesday. She even provides you with free textures if you sign up to her mailing list and of course I did! You can have lots of fun with textures when you learn how to manage your layers. Which I am still learning and pretty much lost the whole freaking time. Nonetheless I try. To me that is what matters. This week she wanted us to use 2 of her textures so I chose her Paper love

Then I chose the Shine

 Then I blended them two together using overlay then I chose my image

And this is what I come up with

This is where my question come in, how come my image did not adjust to the size of the background texture?? This is where I get somewhat confused. Anyway I went on over to light room, cropped and messed with the lighting and my final photo is this,

When I was editing this photo earlier I knew I wanted to add a texture to it. I am satisfied with how it looks. How about you? And can someone give me some more "tutoring" on how come my image was not the same size? Why did I have to crop it?




A couple of hours later:
Okay guys I think I got it. I must have been having a total brain fart! Geez, when you put your image on top of another you can adjust the size right there. Ugh I feel like an idiot. 
So I went about this again but I chose the textures simplicity and Shine and this is what I came up with this time.

Okay here is my before picture of a dragonfly that I snapped over the weekend

Here I used PhotoShops Lightroom 4 and added the  Medium Contrast Curve to the picture

Then I proceeded to enhance the picture to the Aged Photo setting in Lightroom 4

Now here I save the photo and switch over to my Photo Elements 10. I decided to add a texture to this photo. I have never done this before so I thought it might be fun.

I went to the texturizer and chose burlap with 109% scaling with the relief being set at 4 and this is my result.

I was happy with the result. I thought about adding a frame but decided it would be just to much. 

I think I actually like this texturized :-) Do not be afraid to tell me what you think. 

First Happy Meal

Every other Tuesday is pay day at our household and I always go out to eat that day instead of cooking. Besides its just Logan and I so its cheaper that way. 

This past Tuesday I decided on McDonald's because, simply it was right there where I already was. Logan got his very first Happy Meal all to himself.
