National Dog Day--Zuri

So in celebration of this day I introduce you to Zuri. I am sure if your a follower you have seen pictures of her throughout my blog. We got her October of 2012. She belonged to our neighbors. They decided to go on a weekend trip and just threw her outside to fend for herself. She kept crossing a busy highway to get to our house so we just kept her for the weekend until they returned. We left a note on their door telling them we had her. They returned and hours passed and they did not come to get her. I sent one of the kids over to let them know and they took her and put her in a kennel she was to big for that was soaked with urine and feces and put that kennel with her in it, in a shed outside. She was crying. One of my other kids talked them into letting us just keep her. She has been a joy to our family and would be lost without her.

Saturday Critters! How fun!!

My Saturday Critters are my two dogs! Love these girls even if they get in a bit of trouble here and there.

This is Zuri! Our husky. We love her to death. Our family would not know what to do without her around.

Lets Talk Pinterest

Pinterest has become a routine in my world. I find myself pinning away at night in bed, on my phone, while trying to fall asleep. I catch myself saying to many people "I found it on pinterest" But how many of the things that I have pinned have I actually tried?? Not many. I have had some success with what I do pin but have also had some fails. 

This little glow in the dark bubbles does not work! In case you are wondering which one it is, this is the one you cut open glow sticks and dump the solution into the bottle and your supposed to come up with glow in the dark bubbles. NOPE does NOT work!

I went and bought all the supplies because we had a rough winter and our power had went out. We had no way to heat. I thought if anything I could set this up in a bedroom and everyone gather in there to stay warm. Fail!! It did not work. Plus side I got some extra tea light candles for my oil burners and pots to plant my day lily in . 

Not everything has been a fail, I have had some success with the pins I have took an interest in. Mainly the recipes because I get so side tracked that I dont have time to try out the rest. (I need to remedy that.) Here are some recipes I recommend trying. Pinterest did not fail me here!

Liquid Skittles Yummy!! If you like sweet and dont really like the taste of alcohol this is for you. I loved it!

Pot Roast, this particular one has got to be one of my favorites by far! 

Pinterest has also helped me indulge in some of my wants! If I won the lottery pinterest has inspired me to hope for these

I am realistic, I know I will never be able to afford a piece like this without hitting the jackpot but I can dream! 

I am not a fan of taking baths. I prefer showers but with this in my house I am sure I would be spending a ton of time in the tub!

Pinterest is also handy for finding out some of those life hacks that we never knew about. I have a special board for this called Good To Know if you wan to check it out. Learn how to build an emergency fund, kill ants, half recipes, and What foods are toxic to dogs. Very handy in my household. 

No matter what experience you have had with pinterest such as fails or complete success you have to admit, it sure is fun pinning your heart out!

Good, Random and Fun

This past weekend was of course Mothers Day and it has been all over the blogging world. It was not a huge deal here at my household. It never really is. My oldest daughter was on the road from a vacation she took with her dad to Disney World. My oldest step son was off with his mother but yet hanging out with his cousins. The day was spent visiting my mother (surprise visit)! To me those are the best. The unplanned. I of course was told I could do whatever I wanted because the day was about me. That did not turn out well. I have a hard time thinking about myself. I live for satisfying my family. To see them happy makes me happy so we just went with the flow.

The Good
We saved a life! We found this little girl under our house. We then took in the little girl and the mamma and fattening up mamma. 

So far the little girl seems to be doing well!

The Random
Here is a random shot I took with my camera. I was in the truck and we were stopped in traffic for just a second. Was not the best shot but kind of neat

The Fun
The fun was left up to my honey. Fun for me is getting to use my camera (even though I am not the best at it) but the physical fun was had by Eric and him going to the shooting range. 

haha I almost got hit by flying shell casings!

Happy Homemaker Monday/Last Day To Enter Giveaway

Another Monday. I have been neglecting my blog for the last week but I will get to that in another post as to why. It is for a good reason. Good thing I dont have a lot going on in my blogging world to have to play catch up. 

The Weather... Right now it is a nice 82 degrees here in Arkansas. Very Very unusual for July! Last year we were above 100. Makes me wonder what the winter will bring. Going my history and patterns it will or can be I should say, a bad winter. 

Right Now I Am...Sitting in my spot on my couch and have a dogs paw stuck in my upper back. My dog Missy (chihuahua) likes to sit on top of the couch directly behind me. 

On My Reading Pile...I am not much of one to read. I do read a lot of internet articles so the tabs open on my computer are some tutorials on some bracelets I am putting together. 

On My T.V...Right now, Borderlands 2 is being played. The oldest boy claims he has not gotten to play the xbox 360 much on his own lately so he wanted to play while his dad is at work and before he takes it over.

What I found While Surfing The Net...As I mentioned above I am searching for tutorials on bracelets and came across this awesome site with over 26,000 patterns for bracelets. The site is friendship-bracelets.net

From The Camera...Unfortunately I have not broke out the camera at all for awhile but always taking pictures from my phone. Here is Logan waiting for the bus this morning. He got super excited when he seen her pulling up the drive this morning.

Busy Days

I have had a few busy days since Tuesday. Tuesday we welcomed a new member to our family. So here is here introduction

Meet Millie

Sorry about the eye glare. But here is our new 3 year old French Bulldog. She absolutely loves to play, especially tug of war. She will bring the rope to you and put it in your lap and stare you down until you give in. I have always wanted this breed of dog and now I have one and so far she is wonderful. She is great with Logan, potty trained and crate trained. We have yet to bathe her but we will be soon to see how that goes. She has also taken up to my husband. I think he is her person. 

Yes she follows him everywhere. 

It was nice to have someone in the bed with me while my husband was at work. 

Wednesday we had Logans 18mth check up with his new pediatrician. His measurements, 32 1/4 inches in height and he weighs 24lbs 10oz! They gave us the percentiles while there but I never really understood them to begin with. He just said the numbers are good. As you mommies know they have a checklist they have you fill out at the 18 month appt. This checks for symptoms of Autism..Well Mr. Logan did not do so great. The doctor agreed with our concerns. He observed him for a little bit and even tried to call his name and get his attention but it did not work. Logan was to busy fussing and walking in circles. There are quit a few red flags in the possibility of autism. Logan does not imitate, he does not speak any words, he does not point, he does not wave goodbye or anything. If he wants to interact with us it has to be on his terms, not ours. He has always been developmentally delayed when it came to sitting up, crawling and walking. He just started walking in June. His pediatrician has sent a referral to Arkansas Childrens Hospital for Logan to be seen by an audiologist and a developmental pediatrician. This can take awhile to get set up since it seems to be the only place in Arkansas that does the evaluations. In the meantime I will see what I can do in the area of speech therapy. If he is autistic, early intervention is the best. 

People have asked me how I feel about it. Honestly, I have no feelings towards it as of now. He has not been diagnosed for certain. Even if he is I am sure it is mild. We will deal with whatever comes our way. The doctor did give us some different prescriptions to try on his eczema and a few more pointers. Just with two applications his skin looks so much better than it has in a very very long time. I have not even noticed him scratching much. 

He had a hard day. 5 shots and he was teething. 

Today has not been so busy its just being so tired after the past few days. I am not as young as I once was. I am not old but still. Chasing toddlers and running around doing errands was so much more easier when I was 21 than now when I am 31. Crazy how much 10 years makes a difference to your energy levels. Right now I am enjoying hearing some nice thunder roll and seeing some lightening. It even has been accompanied by some much needed rain. Not enough but it was some.
