Did You Know That There Was An Eclipse?

Did you hear there was a lunar eclipse? 
I woke up..not for this event but because of Logan being sick. I woke up to check his fever and the eclipse had began. I figured why not stay up and try to get pictures of the entire thing? That was a FAIL!! Unfortunately I was not able to get it all. I got some of it :-) came back in, chilled on the couch for a bit and went outside at peak time and it was gone!! Gone I tell you. BLACK. I walked out in my yard to see if I could find it somewhere and I barely could see it. By barely I mean I could not even find it through my camera lens because it was so dark. Now imagine this, Im outside in my yard and its pitch black!! Only light out is from my front porch light. My yard has holes everywhere (due to my husky) and I am night blind as can be! I am also freakishly afraid of snakes. I am thinking to myself I am going to step on a damn snake trying to find the moon! The neighbors dog starts barking and scares the crap out of me and almost fall and bust my butt. Thats it, I was done. I went back in the house!! I got on facebook and seen everyone else around me in my area had a lunar eclipse fail too!! Now I do not feel so bad but pretty ticked I wasted this precious time trying to find this moon and photograph it when I could have been sleeping!

Anyways thats the only picture I got. Before that I was playing with my camera and got a few pictures of the moon before eclipse time (like before bed) and saw an awesome spider web and tried and tried to capture it clearly but failed. Oh well, its a neat picture anyways. 

The day after it stormed, and the sky afterwards was such a beautiful blue. This picture did not do it justice. Sucks living in the woods. We never get a clear shot of the sky.

Happy Home-Maker Monday 6/23/14

This weekend marked the official beginning of Summer. So far this summer has actually been mild for Arkansas in June. It is usually so hot its unbearable but we have barely even seen 90 degree temps. We spent all weekend in the pool! What a way to celebrate the beginning of summer. Even though I had no idea it was the official start until I seen another bloggers post about it. Thank you for the reminder.

Now onto it we go! 
As I look outside my window I do not see much lol. I am actually sitting in my bedroom and the window is blacked out. But I have been outside today and it is an overcast day and the weather is calling for a slight chance of rain. 
Right now I am typing up this post(that is a given) eating on some Vienna Sausages and cheddar cheese. I am not really hungry I just have to make sure that I do eat. After all I am now carrying precious cargo! I am also chatting on facebook and venting about my problem causing mother in law. Or might as well be my mother in law. She is not legally. 
Thinking and Pondering on whether or not I should write a letter to someone who needs to hear a few things. I do not know if it would make it worse or better or just be ignored. I guess it is worth a try. 
On my bedside table is my pepsi, the only one of the day. 
On my t.v. this week is nothing really I guess. Eric(my s/o) always has control over the t.v. so its always Big Bang Theory on every night at 6. After that its left up in the air. I know last night he watched Halt and Catch Fire. I think Wednesday is Duck Dynasty. I am also busy with my son in therapy until around 7:30 every night. Not much t.v. watching for me. 
I am listening to my kids friend. He has been here since Saturday and I do not think the boy shuts up...Ever!
On the menu for this week, hamburger and chicken. What goes along with we are yet to figure that one out. 
On my to do list..I have an appointment Friday, clean house, laundry..The normal I guess. I need to find a project to work on. Maybe concentrate on my blog and stuff like I said I would do a couple of weeks ago and have failed. 
Happening this week is an ultrasound of the baby Friday to make sure everything is on track. I will be a little over 6 weeks. I am hoping for good news.
I am creating nothing so far besides a life.
Looking around the house I see boys on the x-box..Thats it. My dogs are hiding in the bedroom with me lol. Got to love my girls. The only ones in the house besides myself.
From the camera these are taken over the weekend. My baby boy loves the swimming pool.

Back In It

Hi folks, I have been pretty busy lately and I have not taken the time out to relax and post to my blog. This week has just been a whirlwind of Doctors appointments and paper-work. Well actually this all started Wednesday. Before that I had two photo shoots on Sunday so I spent a day or two on that and only that. The discs are already out and mailed to the customers. Record time! Less than a week. 

My son Logan finally had is appointment with the developmental pediatrician and was evaluated by the speech and cognitive therapists. He is definitely delayed. If you are interested my husband and I have decided to start a blog on our journey through this "adventure." You can view it HERE!! I would love to have my readers follow us there as well. Only if you are interested in our journey with this possibly autism diagnosis. I am going to be doing my best to get back in the groove of things here. 

My photo shoot Sunday was a blast. I had two beautiful kids to photograph and I would like to share a few from each one of their shots with you. So without further ado here you go!

Here I was not really focusing on the shoes but more of the water lily in the back. I also did this picture where everything is black and white but the the grass and plants and trees. I love it besides the power-lines. 

Luckily the I have another photo shoot Friday at 5!! Wish me luck

Here is my shot of the week. My daughter! It was her birthday this week and I went out and got her a rose, balloon and stuffed animal to make her feel special when she woke up. She messed with this rose all day.

On to my Top 5 photos. I think I spent about two hours trying to figure out what I liked the most. It is still so hard to decide but I was finally able to narrow it down. Mostly the all are of my baby Logan since he is with me 24/7. My other three were here very sparingly throughout the last three months. While my step son Race has been here he has been battling a horrible case of poison ivy so needless to say not many snap shots of him. (Im a horrible person huh?)

As you can tell it was still chilly outside. My boy decked out in Red. He will be my little razorback! I picked this picture because of his sweet eyes and the funny little expression on his face. We were at the Gentry Drive Through Safari.

Once again my baby boy. I picked this one because I think I captured a baby's innocence. I love his smile.

My daughter Kiya. She is such a pretty little girl. She actually turned 10 June 19th.

It amazes me to see how much Logan has changed over the last three months! I chose this picture because you can tell how much his big sister loves him. Then of course his expression. He has so many different faces. 

Who can resist a sleeping baby? Of course this is on of my favorites. He fell out right in the middle of playing.

Different Angles

As my current readers know that I am just starting out at this photography thing. I am enjoying and loving every minute of it! I may not have everything I need but I do have what I need to get started to build up to get what I do need.

I love different angles I may take several pictures of the same pose just at different angles. When I have walked away from a photo shoot I can tell I go to the extreme. My body will actually be sore. I bruised my knees all up at my infant shoot that I done last week. We were on a linoleum floor and I was on my knees a lot! I am a slender built woman so I'm bony lol! I lay on my belly, stand on something to make myself taller, lay on my back and so forth just to get the different angle! Take a look at what I have played with so far.

I loved this shot! Of course I had them sit down while I shot from above. Now I wish I would have been standing on something to make it even better but you learn along the way right?

This is a shot from below. He was higher than I was and playing on some equipment at the park. Now I see the power lines, I should have removed them. *sigh*

Maybe if I get more practice in I wont be so sore after a shoot!

Beginning Of My Summer

Memorial day has been used by some to mark the beginning of Summer as Labor Day marks the ending of summer and the beginning of fall. I believe this beginning of summer thing! It is already hot for me. As I have gotten older I have not been able to handle the heat like I used to ever since  I had my son. I was pregnant with him during the summer of 2010 and ever since then if it is above 80 degrees out I die! I absolutely hate to sweat unless it is accompanied by something productive. Getting out of the shower and drying myself off and I begin to sweat is not my definition of productive.

I am not a big fan of swimming, but since I have kids I try to suck it up and take them. I do have fun at times but mostly I just think I am going to die. This comes from my fear of drowning. As a child my parents never really took us swimming much. I never really learned how to swim. Yes I know, I should have swimming lessons but I am now 30 something and I do not want to look silly out there with a bunch of kindergardeners. I guess I could swim enough to save my own life if the need be but my goal is not come to that!

So my Summer has officially started! I got two of my kids for the summer on Friday. It has been nice having them here and knowing I do not have to take them back until sometime in July. I get my oldest June 7th. She has basketball camps and etc. to attend before being with her mom for the summer. But I have to deal with that now that she is in the teenage years.  That is okay, the other kids and I enjoyed our trip to the park. 

I had an infant photo shoot that did not go as well as I hoped. Maybe I am just hoping for to much at once. I have a tendency to be OCD and perfectionist and realize I am new at this and I can not have it all at once.  And since I am a beginner I do not have all the equipment I wish I had (new camera) But I am making do with what I have. 

I am really hoping that they will be satisfied with the result of the shoot. Keeping my fingers crossed. I have three more shoots confirmed and booked and waiting on two more for the small details since I will be traveling 200 miles to do these other shoots. 

I am glad I decided to take my photography to the next level and give a huge thanks to my husband who is supporting me the whole way. 

I am following some photographers blogs and I love learning new tips and tricks. It is wonderful that people out there share what they know. Really hoping this goes somewhere, if not that will be okay too.

Everyone enjoy your Memorial Day and those of you that get your extra day off. My husband actually had to work an extra day so our celebrations were non-existent. I am planning on a little something later on today (Monday) to take a short trip to the cemetery and catch some of the beautiful decorations. The town I live in has a huge ceremony and decoration. Thought it might be a good photo opportunity. Is that morbid or wrong of me?
