I just wanted to say that I had an awesome Wednesday! I did not get to participate in the wordless Wednesday or the black and white Wednesday yet. I will though! I just thought I would stop by before I take my exhausted butt to bed and say tonight was unbelievable and so grateful I got to do this. See image below
:-)
More to come later after I have rested. I Really Really hope that most of you know who this is!!!
We all have them, our favorite material possessions! This could be from something huge to something very very simple. In order to think of what these were for me I had to think what I would hate to lose in a house fire. What are those things that I would try to grab before I ran out the door?
(By the way this is the Tuesday 10)
1. My photos! I take pride in keeping up with all my family photos over the years and through all the moves and divorces! (two) I believe I would be lost if I did not have those wonderful moments captured of all my kids while they were younger.
2. Quilts, my grandmother has made me two quilts. One of which has my oldest daughters hands (pattern) sewn into it. My daughter was around five years old when she did this. She is now fourteen.
3. Angel ring holder and my great grandmothers wedding set. This was given to me when she passed away. I was thirteen at the time. The angel ring holder is of course just a cheapy from the dollar store but this is a gift that I had given to her.
4. My laptop computer! Where would my life be if I did not have this. My how the times change
5. I know I could not grab these while running out the house but I am very attached to my butterfly canisters. I got them around 9 years ago.
6. My associates degree in paralegal studies! Yes I still have this in its "case" it may not be doing me any good but it was an accomplishment in my life.
7. My car, its not new but it runs and gets me where I need and I love it
8. My rings, I only have a few but I cherish the rings my husband has gotten me.
9. My phone!! Oh my I would be lost without this thing!
10. My camera! Images above brought to you by my camera! Our family moments brought to me and everyone by my camera! Capturing beautiful portraits for others! My camera.
As my current readers know that I am just starting out at this photography thing. I am enjoying and loving every minute of it! I may not have everything I need but I do have what I need to get started to build up to get what I do need.
Anyways back to the subject at hand. I found this Tutorial Tuesday that anyone can participate in or just read the blogs for some tips for your photography. Check out the blogs if you would like:
I love different angles I may take several pictures of the same pose just at different angles. When I have walked away from a photo shoot I can tell I go to the extreme. My body will actually be sore. I bruised my knees all up at my infant shoot that I done last week. We were on a linoleum floor and I was on my knees a lot! I am a slender built woman so I'm bony lol! I lay on my belly, stand on something to make myself taller, lay on my back and so forth just to get the different angle! Take a look at what I have played with so far.
Here I was on my back
I loved this shot! Of course I had them sit down while I shot from above. Now I wish I would have been standing on something to make it even better but you learn along the way right?
This is a shot from below. He was higher than I was and playing on some equipment at the park. Now I see the power lines, I should have removed them. *sigh*
Right on there level, on the ground on my belly :-)
Maybe if I get more practice in I wont be so sore after a shoot!
Memorial day has been used by some to mark the beginning of Summer as Labor Day marks the ending of summer and the beginning of fall. I believe this beginning of summer thing! It is already hot for me. As I have gotten older I have not been able to handle the heat like I used to ever since I had my son. I was pregnant with him during the summer of 2010 and ever since then if it is above 80 degrees out I die! I absolutely hate to sweat unless it is accompanied by something productive. Getting out of the shower and drying myself off and I begin to sweat is not my definition of productive.
I am not a big fan of swimming, but since I have kids I try to suck it up and take them. I do have fun at times but mostly I just think I am going to die. This comes from my fear of drowning. As a child my parents never really took us swimming much. I never really learned how to swim. Yes I know, I should have swimming lessons but I am now 30 something and I do not want to look silly out there with a bunch of kindergardeners. I guess I could swim enough to save my own life if the need be but my goal is not come to that!
So my Summer has officially started! I got two of my kids for the summer on Friday. It has been nice having them here and knowing I do not have to take them back until sometime in July. I get my oldest June 7th. She has basketball camps and etc. to attend before being with her mom for the summer. But I have to deal with that now that she is in the teenage years. That is okay, the other kids and I enjoyed our trip to the park.
I had an infant photo shoot that did not go as well as I hoped. Maybe I am just hoping for to much at once. I have a tendency to be OCD and perfectionist and realize I am new at this and I can not have it all at once. And since I am a beginner I do not have all the equipment I wish I had (new camera) But I am making do with what I have.
I am really hoping that they will be satisfied with the result of the shoot. Keeping my fingers crossed. I have three more shoots confirmed and booked and waiting on two more for the small details since I will be traveling 200 miles to do these other shoots.
I am glad I decided to take my photography to the next level and give a huge thanks to my husband who is supporting me the whole way.
I am following some photographers blogs and I love learning new tips and tricks. It is wonderful that people out there share what they know. Really hoping this goes somewhere, if not that will be okay too.
Everyone enjoy your Memorial Day and those of you that get your extra day off. My husband actually had to work an extra day so our celebrations were non-existent. I am planning on a little something later on today (Monday) to take a short trip to the cemetery and catch some of the beautiful decorations. The town I live in has a huge ceremony and decoration. Thought it might be a good photo opportunity. Is that morbid or wrong of me?
Yes I realize I am posting late in the night for the Sunday Hunt. I even got everything prepped and ready for it last night. I have just been lazy today and not really doing a thing on the computer. This is the first time I have even picked it up today.
Anyways on to the Sunday Scavenger Hunt brought to you by Ashley Sisk over at Ramblings and Photos.
This weeks categories are beneath your feet, capturing movement, texture, face your fears and currently.
I themed it with Instagram!!
Beaneath Your Feet
My son does not like the grass on his feet! Such a silly little boy. And yes those are my fuzzy slippers.
Capturing Movement
My daughter asked for a ripstick for Christmas. Some type of skateboard. Does she like it? You tell me.
Texture
My son has a thing with texture when he eats his food. Here is my baby trying a tomato which took him forever to even touch it because he did not like the feel of it.
Face Your Fears
My biggest fear is drowning! I even have nightmares about it. But this was some flooding we had a couple years back. My husband insisted we get out during this to take pictures. I was scared to death and I still AM!!
Currently
My baby boy on a slide at the park for the first time. This was yesterday. Many days will be spent at the park this summer!
There you have it. Another week of my scavenger hunt findings.
In my journey of blog hopping and browsing I ran across a new Wednesday blog theme that I believe I will be participating in on top of the Wordless Wednesday. Since I am taking my photography to the next level I figured this would be fun. I would like to say thanks to Me As A Mother for hosting this.
Black and White Wednesday
This is Marshall, he was such a cutie with that binky. This photo is from my most recent shoot that I did.
I am going to post more than one picture all with the same meaning with them. See if you can interpret these and lets see how close you are to what my purpose is. This could be fun and probably fairly easy!
I am adding a little twist to the Wordless Wednesday.
and Adventures with Rogue Baby for being the host and co-host of this weeks list! Stop by and say hi to them and show them some love!
I am actually going to do my best in putting these in a somewhat fashionable order since I have a touch of OCD.
1. Just A Swingin' by John Anderson
I actually don't remember or have the memory but have been told this many many times by my parents and my grandmother. When I was about two years old we lived in Texas and my grandmother ran a bar, it was also geared towards family. Evidently we spent lots of time there. The story goes that I would dance on the bar to this song and would go around asking "quarter? quarter?" to all the customers and would want this song played over and over on the juke box just so I could dance.
Now songs 2-6 are not in really any order considering they were around the same time but here is:
2. Tear In My Beer by Hank Williams
For obvious reasons there is not an official video for this. This song is in my memory because my daddy was a huge fan of Hank Williams and this is one of the songs he listened to a lot. Not to mention he always has a beer in his hand. I love my daddy!
3. Daddys Hands by Holly Dunn
My sister and I both agree 100% that this song is my daddy! My daddy still lives (thank God) but this will forever be his song from me and my sister. We love you Daddy!!
4. American Pie by Don Mclean
This song tells a huge wonderful story in its lyrics. The reason this song sticks with me is because it reminds me of my Mom. She sang this song all the time (still does). She always blasts the radio when it comes on. This is her favorite song, therefore this song belongs in my life reminding me of my Mom! I love you momma!!
5.Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks
Sorry no video because from what I read he does not allow his stuff on youtube? But anyways this song has meaning in my life because when I was young my daddy broke his ankle. He was unable to work for awhile because he had to have surgery and etc...He broke it pretty bad. So people got together and threw a benefit dance for him. We did not know either until the end. This is the song that I learned the 10 step to. It was a huge hit back then during that time.
I could not find a video anywhere except where the link leads you. This song..LOL me and my childhood best friend made up a dance to this song and danced to it at a school talent show. I believe we were in the fifth grade. So much fun and I will always remember that.
7. 3 a.m. by Matchbox Twenty
January 11th, 1998 this song was playing on MTV in the delivery room when my oldest daughter was born! Will never never forget.
8. Bartender Song by Rehab
At one point in my life I could relate to this song. My car was taken by an ex and totaled because he was mad at me. This song reminded me of that back then..Not to mention it was quoted to me.
9. Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healey Band
My current husband sang this song to me January of 2008. He said this song is to me from him. How sweet huh?
10. Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson
My husband claims this is me! That this song is who I am.
There you go! My Tuesday Ten for this week. Hope you enjoyed it and really hope you participate in this fun theme. Click the image below and link up at our hosts site. Have fun!!
Warning! This blog is bound to offend some and possibly really make others angry but I want to say it anyway!!
Okay, so I am sitting here on the couch with the laptop on my lap and not paying much attention to the t.v. when I look up and see some chic on David Letterman wearing this dress that barely covers her chest! And she is saying something about it being too cold! OMG really!! She then goes to mention how some other guy told her she should have more clothes on then, of course Mr. Letterman goes on to assure her she looks just fine. Gee I wonder why? Could it be because your nipples are about to pop out of your dress?? Of course he is fine with what she has on. Ugh! Its things like this that make us women have super horrible self esteem issues.
She was wearing the white dress. It is a beautiful dress but going on the show and basically begging for the attention with the cold comment just ticks me off.
Yes it could be jealousy on my part. I am a small busted woman who wishes everyday that she was bigger. I get reassured by my husband every day that my chest is just fine! That he thinks bigger chested women are unattractive and that most men could care less about breasts!! Well if this is so then why is it we have a place called HOOTERS that men love to eat at? Topless bars that men love? And everywhere we look on t.v. or in a magazine or even in public women are constantly showing off their big boobies?? All this really depresses me. I have always had issues with this and now realize its because of society and media! Well they all suck. And MEN!! Ugh please. More than a handful is a waste and big boobies will always sag. Why do men implant it in most women's heads that they want watermelons or jugs to be happy with a girl?
In the end I really think that us women are way more judgmental of ourselves than anyone else. When will we be happy with the way we are? I can tell you when, when society and media stop making it out like all women need to look like barbie dolls with big chests, big butts and an anorexic body to be happy.
I would like to see David Letterman compliment Adele on her body or clothes like he did the above chic!
Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else. -Judy Garland
Yes! I am excited to be able to participate in the Sunday Scavenger Hunt again! I have missed it the last couple of weeks.
If your a reader you know why, if not then I will tell you now. I have started off my photography hobby on the next level by doing some really cheap photo shoots for individuals so I have been busy, busy with that! Pretty exciting actually. I spend lots of time editing and perfecting so I totally ignore everything else.
But I decided to take a break and participate. This is by far one of the most fun blog themes I participate in.
Anyways this weeks categories are rainbow, fluffy, letters, metal and trees.
Here are my interpretations and finds!!
Rainbow
We seen this as we were going to look at the house we are living in now.
Fluffy
I could not pick just one. Who would not love to curl up in the lions mane? Minus the aggressiveness and the possibility of being ripped to shreds? I myself would love to. Then we have the prairie dog. Yes he is cuddly and fluffy but this one looks kinda rough :-) but still cute.
Letters
At one of the local liquor joints in the beautiful Fayetteville Arkansas! This is what came to my mind when I heard letters. Letters on a building or sign. I found this and just knew I had to post it.
Metal
I believe this is called a sickle mower. This is on my mom and dads property. I remember it being hooked up to our old John Deere or either the Farmall Cub. Not sure which but yup here it is, a hunk of metal :-) But still art in my eyes.
Trees
Yes this is for real!! We were out on a random drive on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and here this was. Who would not stop and take a picture?
There you have it. My Sunday Scavenger Hunt Finds!
Thank you to Ashley over at Ramblings and Photos for hosting every week!
